Christmas season at Mary’s Marvelous was a bustling time. A combination of folks in town for the holidays, snowy cold temperatures, day after day of the store filled with that intoxicating mingling smell of cookie and cake baking. Chickens were roasting, soup was simmering. Giant shiny red globes hung from the ceiling, red Christmas lights were strung and huge red wreaths hung centered in the windows. And there - in our storefront windows - the most amazing and magical gingerbread houses.
We hosted a gingerbread house competition for the kids in town for many years. It became so popular that adults wanted to join in too. Everyone was given the same gingerbread house kit and everything had to be edible! As long as they started with the kit, anything was possible.
Here is a look back at some of the incredible results of imagination at work. I trust this will spark that imaginative spirit of your own this holiday time … and beyond!
Remember, my friend, your imagination is the spark of life. Color the world with it in the year ahead.

There is a story behind each of these houses.
As I sorted and sifted through these memories, I was struck by the entirely original and wonderful uniqueness of each of these. And isn’t that just like us?
Each one of us a complete original!
Look how many different houses there were! No two alike! That's amazing. What fun that must have been.
