Off I Go...
I’m packing my bags (leaving just enough room for English cheese and biscuits) because Pat and I are heading to London for a family wedding—and a bit of wandering. Our niece, Hazel, is getting married!
We’ll spend a week in London (where it’s unexpectedly and stubbornly hot), soaking it all in—the wedding celebration, architecture, art, maybe an afternoon tea—and then head north to Scotland for a few nights of countryside, cool air, and perhaps a dram or two.
There’s something about travel that resets me. Different light, different pace, the fun of wandering in a new place. This trip is about showing up for family, for love, and also for the adventure of seeing the world through fresh eyes (and maybe through a bakery window or two).
My mind’s already halfway over the Atlantic, and my heart’s in beautiful old Highgate chapel with Hazel and Dan, where they’ll say their vows surrounded by people who love them.
So for now, I’m stepping off the grid and into celebration mode. More soon.
Bon voyage! I hope it's wonderful. I love your post, full of all the good things about a trip and showing up for family. Congrats! Have fun.
A huge congratulations to Hazel! Seems like yesterday she was graduating high school. Enjoy your trip and if you see Haley, give her a hug.
